Mr. Yousaf Hussain has served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Faysal Bank Limited since 2017. With nearly three decades of experience in Pakistan’s financial sector, he has overseen a defining phase of strategic repositioning and large-scale growth for the Bank. Before joining Faysal Bank in 2008, he held senior corporate and investment banking roles at ABN AMRO Bank.
Under his leadership, Faysal Bank completed its shift from a conventional institution to a fully Islamic banking model — a milestone independently recognized by the International Islamic Rating Agency as the largest Islamic banking conversion undertaken globally. He has also driven major expansion across the Bank’s national footprint and strengthened its products, digital, analytics, and innovation capabilities. Today, Faysal Bank operates a network of over 900 branches across nearly 300 cities.
Mr. Hussain holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from LUMS. He serves as President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Senior Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Banks Association, Director at the Pakistan Business Council, Chair of the LUMS CIEF Advisory Board, and Board Member of NIBAF Pakistan.
As a member of the Board of Directors of Habib University Foundation Pakistan, he brings strategic oversight and governance expertise to advance the Foundation’s initiatives. In this capacity, he champions access to rigorous liberal arts education for talented students and leverages his leadership to enhance institutional effectiveness, and support the Foundation’s mission of developing capable, future-ready graduates who can contribute meaningfully to society.
